Daffodil International University Library is going to start two months advance training of Koha ILS, MARC21 and DSpace. It will start from mid of October 2019. Koha is an open source integrated library system (ILS) maintained and used by libraries all over the world. With its many advanced features, it is easy to find the materials you need. It is easy to use and a complete modern web-based, Multilingual OPAC System. Koha’s feature-set continues to developing and expanding day by day to meet the needs of its users. DSpace is an open source repository software package typically used for creating open access repositories for scholarly and/or published digital content. While DSpace shares some feature overlap with content management systems and document management systems, the DSpace repository software serves a specific need as a digital archives system, focused on the long-term storage, access and preservation of digital content.

We have taken this initiative to organize a two months long training program only for professional development regardless any business mentality. We have successfully completed 17th phase training on Koha ILS and MARC21 which started from 2012 with the help and support of LIS Community.

Training Outcomes:
After successful completion of this training the participants will be able to:
Deploy / Install Koha and DSpace on their own computer /server
Learn basic commands of Linux which may be helpful to use Koha.
Effectively Configure / customize Koha according to needs.
Learn MARC 21 and using MarcEdit Software and in Koha Cataloguing interface.
Learn how to work with DSpace Institutional Repository.
Learn about Dublin Core meta data
Learn how to backup and restore Koha and DSpace sytem.

Who Should Attend?
The training program is intended for library and information professionals, knowledge managers, information entrepreneurs, students who have the interests, initiatives, and need to set up automated library management in their organizations.

 The number of participants will be limited to 20 (Twenty). (On First Come First Serve Bases)
